The Project Development Action Group is targeted to the needs and interests especially of wind energy developers. Besides information exchange, and provincial and/or national draft legislation.

The aim of this Action Group is

·         to share information and knowledge among interested stakeholders;

·         to give input into project activities relevant for developers (e.g. Regional Regulatory Action Group, Grid Study); and

·         to give input into other provincial and national policy developments.

In order to facilitate the achievement of these aims, this platform provides the following features:

A Download Area provides draft documents of ongoing project activities (e.g. scope of work and draft chapters of the RRAP), provincial and national (draft) policy documents, as well as papers providing useful (practical information) for project developers. All of these documents could form the basis for inputs in the Discussion Forum.

The Discussion Forum is split into three sections. The first one provides participants with the opportunity to give input into ongoing project activities. The second sub-forum is reserved for comments on provincial and national policy developments. These comments could form the basis for joint submissions to the entity responsible for the respective initiative. Finally, a section has been created for further information exchange and discussions. Possible topics to be discussed could include:

·         Pitfalls to be avoided in the project development process;

·         Barriers (Financial, technical and legislative);

·         Future collaboration and a strategy to drive the process together with Eskom, Nersa, the Department of Energy, the Department of Water and Environmental Affairs and other important role-players.

·         Ideas for further topics can be obtained from the minutes of the project developers forum of the Project Implementation Workshop (see folder “Project Documents” in Downloads).

Every registered user is able to add comments in the Discussion Forum and download documents from the Download Area.
